PRP for Hair Loss

PRP Therapy (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

How it works?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy is a scientifically backed, minimally invasive treatment that harnesses the regenerative power of your body’s own platelets to combat hair loss. During the procedure, a small blood sample is drawn, processed to concentrate platelet-rich plasma, and strategically injected into targeted areas of the scalp. Rich in growth factors, these platelets stimulate dormant hair follicles, promoting cellular repair, thickening existing hair strands, and slowing progressive thinning.

The procedure

A small amount of blood (usually around 10–20 ml) is drawn from the patient’s arm, similar to a standard blood test. This is the source for preparing the PRP.

The collected blood is placed in a centrifuge—a machine that spins at high speed to separate the blood components. This process takes about 10 minutes and isolates the platelet-rich plasma, which contains growth factors essential for tissue repair and regeneration.

After centrifugation, the platelet-rich plasma is carefully extracted into a syringe, leaving behind the red blood cells and platelet-poor plasma. This PRP is now ready for application.

The PRP is then injected into targeted areas of the scalp where hair thinning or early hair loss is present. Fine needles are used to ensure precision and minimal discomfort. In some clinics, microneedling may also be used in combination with PRP to enhance absorption and results.
